From the time he could hold sticks in his hands, Krishna has been playing music. Born and raised in Western Massachusetts, he started out on pots, pans and whatever else he could find that made noise when you hit it. By the time he was 2, he had graduated to a real set of drums. When he got to middle school, he started forming bands and writing songs with his friends. In high school, he started playing his first gigs in bars with his band, and started sitting in with other local bands. Around age 15 he started touring with his family, and shortly after, started learning guitar. After he graduated he started touring full time playing guitar with the family.

In 2010, between tours, and apart from playing with local bands, Guthrie started his first band in which he played guitar and sang, with Jason Gelinas and Tory Hanna. The band was called Modest Me, and perfect for his transition into full time guitar playing and fronting. Modest Me was a power trio and all members wrote songs, played guitar, bass, drums and sang. Rotating like volley ball, each member played all of the instruments and some point during the show. In 2014 Modest Me ended and Guthrie moved away from home and up to Rutland VT, where he started playing acoustic guitar with the Tony Lee Thomas Band at Killington Ski Resort.

Apart from TLT, in 2015 Guthrie joined a band called Oak Totem, which allowed him to pursue his electric guitar playing and fronting a band. In the fall of 2017,Oak Totem ended and Guthrie toured Alaska with Bow Thayer and Alex Abraham. Following that tour, Krishna started a band with Alex Abraham (bass), and their good friend who is also named Alex Abraham (drums). The band was called AKA (Alex Krishna Alex). AKA showcased a lot of original material, and rocking covers that you don’t hear from your average cover band.

Unfortunately Alex Abraham (bass) passed away suddenly at the end of March 2018. After this devastating event, Krishna decided to start The Krishna Guthrie Band in June 2018, with Alex Abraham (drums), and Zack Jepson (bass). After playing the summer as a trio with special guests here and there, along came Bobby Maguire, one of the former band mates of the TLTB. Bobby joined The KGB in November 2018, playing the fiddle and completing the lineup.
